Confirmation Information Evening
On Monday evening, we had the parent information session for Confirmation. Once again, Mario from 24:7 Youth Ministry lead the presentation and was engaging and informative. Mario has presented at all the information sessions this year and 24:7 have run our retreats, with the Year 6 retreat coming up next week. We are proud of the partnership that has been built and the effort they have gone to working with our students. Aloyse and Anthony from 24:7 run our local youth ministry on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of each month. They are doing a fantastic job coming down to the school to engage with the Year 6 class. The youth group is going strong with around 30 attendees, so we encourage any Year 6 students or past students to come along and join in.
Mother’s Day Breakfast activities and Mass
A beautiful morning as mothers, grandmothers and other special ladies in the life of St Michael’s students came down for a light breakfast and activities. Mothers could be seen being pampered with a massage, having their nails painted and getting some happy snaps in the photo booth. This was followed by a beautiful Mass. We appreciate the efforts of the staff to organise and especially those of Miss Pin for her efficient organisation and coordination of the event.
School Cross Country
The students from Years 3 to 6 will competing in the School Cross Country today. While running may not be every student’s strength, we know that they will give it their best go and not give up. We will post the results in next week newsletter.
Next week students from Years 3 and Year 5 will be sitting the National Assessment Program- Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). NAPLAN is completed by all schools starting on the Tuesday with writing. Please find the schedule below. On Friday, Year 3 students will leave assembly immediately after merit awards.
