Teachers will begin meeting with parents from next week until the end of term. To book a meeting with Kindy and Preprimary teachers, please write your name in timeslot on the book sheets located near the class door. For Years 1 to 6, we will be using www.schoolinterviews.com.au. A flyer will be uploaded to the Connected App demonstrating how to book.
On Friday 20th March, we will be celebrating Harmony Day. Student are encouraged to wear an orange top with their sports uniform. Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
During Lent each year, Caritas Australia asks people to donate to Project Compassion. The money raised is used to fund projects around the globe to create a just world. Due to the student-free day and the swimming carnival, we haven’t been able to share all the stories. This link below provides a great example of how Caritas helps people to build a sustainable future. https://lent.caritas.org.au/page/week-2#section-3
Our goal is to raise $1000 to help Caritas Australia. This would help 10 disabled women in India create positive change. This is a huge difference. To raise this amount, it works out to a little over $4 a student! So, please donate generously and send money in with the students to add to their class donation box. The media ministry will keep us informed about how much we have raised.
Dear parents and guardians,
Today we had the swimming carnival. Years 3 to 6 participated in this event and everyone had heaps of fun.
This week our school has raised $65.90 for project compassion. Well done to everybody that donated. Our school all together raised $208.05 so far this term and will need $791.95 more to get to our goal of $1000 dollars.
Also, on Friday the 20th, the school will be celebrating Harmony day. Students are able to wear something orange (besides the Year 6’s because of the cricket carnival). Harmony Day is celebrated on the 21st of March in Australia. Harmony Day first began in 1999, occurring on the same day as the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Next week the Year 6’s have a cricket carnival on Friday the 20th so Year 5 will run assembly.
