Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Statue

On Monday, we were fortunate to have not only one of the statues of Our Lady blessed by the Pope visit our Parish, but also the sisters who devote their time to traveling with the statue who spoke to the students. We celebrated Mass reverently and had the Kindy students attend for the first time. After Mass, Sister Clara (pictured handing out scapulars) spoke to the students about how God loves us and what we can do to show love for God, through prayer and action. Her message was beautiful and had students and teachers fully engaged. She spoke about how the scapular, that Mary held in her last apparition, will protect those who wear it, and then the sisters handed one out to each person at the church. Thank you to Mrs Liebregts and Miss Pin for organising the Mass and preparing the readers. A special thank you to Mrs Panizza for coming in to accompany the angelic choir.

Around the classes

Class Visits

Promoting a love of reading and writing is well and truly alive in our Kindy classroom this past week.

It was very rewarding working alongside Mrs Welch during guided reading and writing sessions, helping the children read aloud and construct their sentence from the story.

Year 1 Assembly

The school community was treated to a wonderful performance by the Year 1 class this morning as they recited The Very Cranky Bear. A fantastic effort by the class to perform the story with actions. Thank you to Mrs Griffiths for your efforts in preparing the assembly item.

Athletics Field Day

Congratulations to the students for their participation in the events today. There was joy, success, hurt and pain as they gave their best. There was great sportsmanship all round as students cheered each other to throw that little bit further. Thank you to the parent helpers who were able to come down and give a hand to Miss Brescacin. It is not over though. We have our track events on Wednesday 29th at Ern Clark Athletics Complex. We look forward to seeing you all there.
