AEGIS Visit

Another successful and heart-warming visit took place Tuesday morning with the Year Three class visiting the residents at the AEGIS Centre. The students spent time talking and sharing stories about their families and favourite things and played memory games together on the iPad. The residents were treated to a performance of the song ‘A thousand years’. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room after that performance! Here are some of the lovely reflections from the students:

At my visit to Aegis, the resident I had was really good at Memorama. I loved the sound of happy voices. I enjoyed Aegis. Maddy
I like to play Pocket Pond with William. He was good at feeding the fish and he was good at Memorama. We got to Level 23. Jack
When we went to Aegis, we met a man called William. We played a memory game with him. We talked with him for a while. Then we sang a song called A Thousand Years. It was so much fun because we met new people. Ruby and Antonia

Classroom visit

A highlight of the week was working with the kindy children where they were working with their partner discussing story features before they illustrated their thoughts. Such talent in our early years!

Year 5 Excursion to the Perth Zoo

On Monday 15th October, the Year 5 class along with Mr Powles, Mrs Cullen and parent helpers travelled by public transport to the Perth Zoo. The excursion was part of our science unit, ‘Desert Survivors’ which is about animal adaptations. At the zoo, we learnt about the different adaptations between lion and cheetah bodies that help them survive. We will be able to apply what we have learnt and apply it to our Australian desert animals as we progress through the unit.
