Late Arrivals to School
Please note, if your children are late to school (ie arrive after 8:40am), they must be signed in at the Office. Otherwise they will show as absent on the roll. Thank you.
Please note, after an absence a SIGNED NOTE needs to be provided to the teacher on your child’s return to school. The Department of Education Services has confirmed that whilst an SMS or phone message is NOT a substitute for a signed note when reporting absences, an email meeting the following criteria can be accepted:
- FULL name of the student
- CLASS / roll group of the student
- Reason for the absence
- FULL NAME of the PARENT/GUARDIAN at the end of the message (the ‘from’ email address is not sufficient).
Please send emails meeting the above criteria to: email@example.com or fill in the online absentee form on the Connected app.
Please note, teachers do not get to sit down and check their emails first thing in the morning, so if you have emailed the teacher regarding your child’s absence, they may not receive the information until later in the day. Therefore, please do not be upset if you receive an SMS or phone call from the Office to clarify the absence. For this reason, a phone call to the ABSENTEE LINE 6278 9802 is a more efficient way of communicating an absence than an email to the class teacher.
Calling all parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles. Do you have time to listen and support some of our wonderful readers here at St Michael’s? We have timeslots available for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. If you have time to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Mrs Lesley Schnell through the front office.
Disco Feedback Survey
The 2019 Disco was a great success. The kids had an amazing time. We are always keen to keep improving our events and would love your feedback.
Please keep in mind that P&F events are organised by parents who are volunteering their time, so your kids can have a great experience.

Walkathon – Monday 28th Oct
The St Michael’s Walkathon fundraiser is a school community event promoting Health & Wellbeing. The walk follows 3 set courses :Kindy & PP laps of the oval with fun exercise stations. Year1–3 follow a 2km set route, Year 4–6 follow a 5km set route. Each year we encourage students to fundraise in support of their walk. Numerous parent volunteers are required to assist with road safety and to walk with the children and teachers. Please contact me if you or a family member can assist us on the day.
What would you do with $5,000 to spend at school?
We have the potential to raise over $5,000 a year for St Michaels, but to reach that figure we need everyone to do a little bit.
It doesn’t cost you anything. In fact, you can save money while you are raising money!
All you need to do is open a Commonwealth Bank student sav
ings account and then make a deposit each week through the school banking system.
It doesn’t matter how much you deposit; We just need ‘a’ deposit.
We raise money based on:
1) Every 10 deposits made per child
2) The number of students who make at least one deposit per year
Last year we raised over $1,000 through School Banking, but this year we have seen a 35% drop in participation rates which will be reflected in the funds we raise for our P&F.
If you are interested in receiving a weekly reminder from Renee, please send her a text on the number below.
There is still time to make a contribution this year and to get primed and ready for next year.
Contact Renee at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0439 965 378 if you have any questions or would like to help with school banking (ad hoc volunteers are very welcome!
