Library Book Borrowing Information

With the term slipping away, please note the dates for last borrowing days for 2019.

Year 6 class:  Your last borrowing day is Tuesday 19th November.

Years Pre-Primary to Year 5:  Your last borrowing day is Tuesday 26th November.

The earlier last borrowing day for year 6 is to allow plenty of time for any outstanding books to be returned before year 6 students leave St Michaels.

We’re very appreciative of your help in this area, which hopefully will see all outstanding books returned before the end of the school year.

Many thanks.
St Michael’s Library Volunteers

Kindergarten 2021

If you have a child born 1st July 2016 to 30th June 2017 and have not yet submitted an application for Kindergarten 2021, please download the Expression of Interest form from the school website and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Alternatively, forms can be obtained from the office.  Please note that enrolments for Kindy 2021 will be finalised in late Term 1 or early Term 2 next year.

Late Arrivals to School

Please note, if your children are late to school (ie arrive after 8:40am), they must be signed in at the Office. Otherwise they will show as absent on the roll. Thank you.

Absence Calls/Notes/Emails

Please note, after an absence a SIGNED NOTE needs to be provided to the teacher on your child’s return to school. The Department of Education Services has confirmed that whilst an SMS or phone message is NOT a substitute for a signed note when reporting absences, an email meeting the following criteria can be accepted:

  • FULL name of the student
  • CLASS / roll group of the student
  • Date
  • Reason for the absence
  • FULL NAME of the PARENT/GUARDIAN at the end of the message (the ‘from’ email address is not sufficient).

Please send emails meeting the above criteria to:  admin@stmichaelsbass.wa.edu.au or fill in the online absentee form on the Connected app.

Please note, teachers do not get to sit down and check their emails first thing in the morning, so if you have emailed the teacher regarding your child’s absence, they may not receive the information until later in the day. Therefore, please do not be upset if you receive an SMS or phone call from the Office to clarify the absence. For this reason, a phone call to the ABSENTEE LINE 6278 9802 is a more efficient way of communicating an absence than an email to the class teacher.

Walk to School Day

The St Michael’s P&F are passionate about your children’s safety.  This year we have started the application process to have a state funded lollipop crossing installed across Guildford Rd at the end of Wilson St.

We will have a volunteer stationed at the crossing on the 18th of November 2019 between the hours of 7:30am to 8:30am in the morning and 3:00pm and 4:00pm in the afternoon counting the number of people crossing the road and handing out stickers to our supporters.
