Making Jesus Real

A key part to discovering Christ in our lives is reflection. In our busy lives, we are often so rushed and going from one thing to the next that we find ourselves time poor. But, sometimes we need to slow down and make time to reflect. As written in the Bishop’s Mandate, parents are the first educators and we, as schools, support parents in the spiritual growth of their children.

Below are some questions to guide reflection with your children to help see who made Jesus real this week.

  • Who did you see Make Jesus real this week?
  • What did you do this week to be a WESTY (Welcoming, Encouraging, saying Sorry and Thank You)?

Well done to our student who were recognised this week for their WESTY actions.

Class Award: Year 2

Student Award: Ben Haines
Ben uses his beautiful manners and thanks his teachers. He is welcoming and inclusive towards his peers and has a caring and positive attitude. Well done on being a model WESTY!

Year 4 Assembly

The Year 4 class with the creative wizardry of Mr Caddy put on a wonderful performance at assembly, mixing Literacy, Numeracy, Technologies and Drama. The class taught the audience about literary devices they have learnt about while reading Iron Man, showed off the robots inspired by the story, performed a rendition of the 8 times tables to Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball and treated the audience to their Choral Act, which they were awarded outstanding at Performing Arts. This was all in the space of 10 minutes. Thank you Mr Caddy and Year 4 for your wonderful performance.

Athletics

Last Friday we wrapped up the Athletics Carnival with team games on the BI. It was great to have some sunshine to finish the last events. Afterwards, we went back into the hall where the Champion and Runners-Up were announced along with the winning faction.

Well done to Mercy on taking out the shield! That makes 11 times in a row for Mercy- what an achievement.

Once again, thank you to Miss Brescacin for her efforts in organising and running the carnival, which stretched longer than expected, and to all the parents who came down to help out and support.
