School Photos

Our school photos will be on Wednesday 28th August in Term 3.  The individual photo forms have been sent home. With students away ill, they may have missed the handout. Please email your class teacher if your child has not brought it home. Family photo forms can now be collected from the office.

Term 3 Mass

Our first Mass this term is in Week 2 on Wednesday 31st July. We invite the school community to join the students to celebrate the Year 6 Mass. The next Mass will be the Year 5 Mass in Week 4 on the Thursday for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Year 1 Assembly

Come along Friday 2nd August for the Year 1 assembly item. We look forward to seeing the good work that Mrs Doven and the students have been putting in as they prepare for the first assembly item for the term.

The Year 4 assembly has been moved from Week 4 to Week 7 (Friday 6th September).

Back into Learning

The classes have all returned for a smooth start to the term. We have the senior classes taking part in the Wester Power Circuit Breakers program learning to code using Micro:Bits. These are tiny circuit boards with sensors that allow students to program them to record data and produce lights and music when targets are reached. Junior classes are looking at biological sciences which includes life cycles. The teachers have organised fantastic hands on activities for the students to engage with the content. Year 3 have an interesting project learning about insulation and designing eskies.

You will have opportunities to see the amazing work students are producing at our Open Night later in the term.

SeeSaw

On Monday, teachers in the Junior Primary attended a professional development with Mrs Saunders about using SeeSaw. SeeSaw is a digital portfolio tool that allows teachers and students to upload work along with photos, video or audio recordings and annotations. A parent information session will be held on Friday 16 August from 9:30am-10:30am in the Library. All K-3 parents were sent an email explaining this learning tool along with a link to give permission to connect you to your child’s portfolio: http://tiny.cc/connectseesaw

Please contact Mrs Saunders if you did not receive the email: jemima.saunders@cewa.edu.au
