Message from the Principal – Newsletter 06
Dear Parents and Caregivers
A huge thank you must go to Ryan Powles who led the school last week on his own while I was unwell! Thank you to all parents and family members who attended the swimming carnival today, especially those who volunteered as officials. We can’t run these sorts of days without parent helpers so thank you for your generosity of spirit! Congratulations and thank you to Miss Nat Brescacin who co-ordinated the day!
Monday’s P & F Meeting – Uniform Discussion
A reminder that we have a P & F meeting scheduled for Monday night (16th March) at 7.15pm in the staff room. This is an important meeting as we are discussing options for an alternative option to the girls’ summer dress for students who may not feel comfortable wearing a dress. We have some sample skorts to look at. If this is an issue that interests you, please come along and give your input!
P & F Welcome Event Cancelled
Unfortunately, in light of recent Coronavirus concerns, the P & F have decided to cancel this year’s welcome event. Thank you for your understanding. This is disappointing for everyone but is a decision that has been made with careful consideration in the interests of the health and safety of our community. Thank you to Tanwyn and the P & F for all the effort that went into the initial planning for this event.
Mrs Doreen Panizza has announced her retirement at the end of this term. It will be with heavy hearts that we farewell Mrs Panizza who brings so much joy, energy, laughter and love to our school however, this is an exciting time for her to transition into this next phase in life’s journey and we wish her all of life’s blessings! Unfortunately, due to family reasons, Mrs Lynda Charles is unable to take up her position as Art Teacher at St. Michael’s. As a result, both the Art and Music Teacher positions are currently being advertised.
Next week we will be running a lock down drill. If you are onsite during this time, please follow the instructions of teachers. We aren’t releasing the day or time as we sometimes like to surprise everyone to make the drill as realistic as possible!
Travelling Overseas During the Easter Holidays?
In light of recent Coronavirus concerns, if you are travelling internationally during the Easter holidays, can I please ask that you email Mr Ryan Powles to notify him of which countries you are travelling to? This will allow us to provide appropriate advice regarding the Coronavirus once school returns in Term 2. Ryan’s email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a terrific weekend.
